What Is a Smile- Makeover?
A smile makeover is an individually tailored combination of two or more cosmetic dental procedures that has the power to give you a dazzling new smile. Discoloured, gapped, chipped, or misshapen teeth and inconsistencies in shape or size can all be concealed with bonding also known as white fillings, ceramic fillings (CEREC™), veneers, and crowns.
Bonding uses a tooth coloured composite resin material to match your tooth colour and hides minor cosmetic and structural imperfections. Because it is not as strong as crowns or veneers, it is typically recommended for areas of low bite pressure, like the front teeth mainly used to cut food and not chewing. Porcelain veneers use thin shells of highly aesthetic medical-grade ceramic porcelain. This thin shell-like veneer is bonded by your dentist to the front surface of the teeth to discretely conceal imperfections, while ceramic or porcelain crowns cover the entire surface and sides of the tooth down to the gums. Crowns are primarily a restorative treatment intended to support or replace a badly broken down damaged tooth, but they are carefully artistically crafted to look healthy and natural.
